This Valentine’s Day I

Comment by johnbhop, February 16, 2010 at 21:19

This Valentine’s Day I decided to think “outside the chocolate box” and spoil my sweetheart with something completely different. I’ve heard about bamboo sheets being comfortable, and smooth, great for someone (me) with allergies and who wants to be a little eco-friendly and more green. So I took the plunge. Well, in additional to all that, let me just say that we were truly spoiled. Not only do the sheets feel buttery soft, but they keep us so very warm and cosy.

From what I've read, it's only the Ikea mattresses sold in the US and the UK that have chemical flame retardants applied to them.

I looked into it and while some of the Ikea mattresses you mention in the article are made from eco-friendly materials they are not chemical free as described. They still have the chemicals added to make them fire retardent.

I'd be delighted to see future articles that can offer organic, chemical free, matress sources available locally. I've found a few online but found only a couple local stores that carry them.
