Granville editor talks to local photographer/citizen journalist ahead of the FreshMedia ReMixology event Wednesday night

“As we come up on the horizon in the plane, all the way to the left all you can see is oil, and all the way to the right all you can see is oil—and then you see seven boats out there cleaning it up,” said Kris Krüg. “And you’re like, ‘WTF?’ There’s no compartment in your brain where you can stick it in. It’s kind of like a bomb just dropped on your head.”

Local blog by local people on local inspiration. Sign me up

Okay, yeah, so I'm obsessive when it comes to this city. Sure, we've got poverty, shove-happy law enforcement and archaic drinking laws, and the city could use with a few less souless "casual fine-dining chain" restaurants. But Vancouver also makes me happy, and often. Which is why I immediately clicked on this tweet when it popped up in my TweetDeck today listing the url http://www.inspiredbyvancouver.com/. It's a neat little local blog, still in its infancy, that collects single B&W images and graphics of "people, places and things that inspire us."
They are in no particular order. Some of them are friends, some we do not even know. All they have in common is that they are making a positive impact on the cultural currency of our city. We think its important that you know about them.
